Depart at 07:00, before the coaches arrive. Down the Atlantic seaboard through Camps Bay and Hout Bay while the roads are still quiet. Over Chapman’s Peak — the cliff road at its most dramatic in the early morning light. Through Noordhoek, Kommetjie and Scarborough into the reserve.
Cape Point before the morning rush. The southernmost tip of the Cape Peninsula, the signboard, the views across False Bay. Then inland and over Ou Kaapse Weg, a completely different landscape — mountain fynbos, sweeping valley views, the convoy winding through the passes toward Constantia.
Brunch at a Constantia wine estate. Back in Cape Town by midday, with the rest of the day still ahead. National park entry is included in the price.
The convoy assembles at our Cape Town base. A short walk-around of your 911 SC, radios synced, and the convoy rolls out onto empty early-morning roads.
Down Kloof Nek and onto the Atlantic seaboard with the Twelve Apostles above and the ocean opening up ahead. A warm-up stretch as the cars settle into their stride.
The signature stop of the morning. At this hour Chapman’s Peak is deserted. The big lay-by, the wide Atlantic view, the road carved into the cliff. The 911 SCs in full stride against the most dramatic backdrop in Cape Town.
Through the reserve and to the southern tip of the Cape Peninsula, reached before the morning rush. The viewpoint, the famous signboard, the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Ocean. Time to explore on foot.
A pause before the inland return. The convoy leaves the reserve and the landscape shifts from coastal drama to mountain fynbos.
Over the Old Cape Road. Sweeping mountain passes, fynbos on both sides, the Constantia valley unfolding below. A completely different character from the coastal drive — a fitting close to the morning.
